Shakira charms thousands in Timisoara event concert
“Hips Don’t Lie” Shakira’s song, became the hit of one evening, in the year’s most anticipated concert.

Timisoara - Columbian diva Shakira performed on Monday evening in her first Romanian concert, on the Dan Paltinisanu Stadium in Timisoara, in a concert that electrified an audience of about 20,000 people.
Although expected by fans from Romania and the neighboring countries as a sensation, the performance was shadowed by organisational lacks and almost an almost 90 minutes delay.
The show was opened by a local DJ, Ben Bognar, who tried to entertain the public for almost two hours with mixing several pop hits. After two hours, when the public was already lacking patience, there was another 30 minute delay, and the Diva finally came on stage.
Shakira’s appearance was marked by an angelic note, as the singer came on stage from behind a transparent white curtain. The opening song was one with a direct message, as Shakira wanted to ensure her public “I Am Here” (Estoy Aqui).
Immediately after, the singer said she had been intending to perform in Romania for a long time, and that she was feeling very well in Timisoara.
The artist enflamed the atmosphere with several hits from her 2005 albums Oral Fixation 1 and Oral Fixation 2. For “Don’t Bother,” the singer picked her famous electric guitar encrusted in thousands of Swarowski crystals. The moment that was mostly enjoyed by the public was the dancing performance the Diva delivered, on her incendiary hit “La Tortura.”
The well known hip and bust movements enflamed a whole stadium.
After a brief intermezzo, the singer came back on the stage dressed as an Oriental dancer, and sang her best known hit “Whenever Wherever.”
All through the concert, the singer was barefoot and her example was followed by several girls in the audience, who kept dancing and jumping around.
Overall, the atmosphere was electrifying, through her energy the Diva kept alive the people’s interest. She impressed through modesty and simplicity and proved a complete involvement in the performance.
Towards the end of the concert, the singer brought on stage Romania’s national flag, which she then threw in the audience and disappeared. She came back for en encore where she delivered “Hips Don’t Lie,” the hit that consecrated her.
Shakira is currently the best selling South American singer. “Oral Fixation: Vol. 1 was released on June 6, 2005 in Europe and on June 7, 2005 in North America and Australia. The lead single “La Tortura” (The Torture, featuring Alejandro Sanz) eventually reached number one in Spain and number twenty-three on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. In Canada, “La Tortura” also became the highest-charting Spanish song when it debuted and peaked at number twenty-one. Before the release of Shakira’s second English album Oral Fixation Vol. 2, she appeared at the 2005 MTV Europe Music Awards ceremony and she was nominated in the category of “Best Female”, which she won to great shock since she had outmatched the international popularity of other artists such as Gwen Stefani. Shakira performed Oral Fixation Vol. 2’s lead single “Don’t Bother” amid dancers and a large car resting on the stage following her win.

ce mi-am amintit: au fost anumite persoane care se uitau la mine ca la un extraterestru , cand incepeam sa cant si eu piesele pe care le stiam. crazy are dreptate, publicul nu cunostea doar piesele: La tortura si Hips don`t lie(shame on them). la un moment dat deja ma simteam aiurea si am plecat in alta parte pt ca gastele(de vreo 24 de ani) si iubitii lor nu au stiut sa o aprecieze pe Shakira si nici persoanele care faceau atmosfera.
